Nahum 1:7 AMPC

Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

The Lord is good, a Strength and Stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows (recognizes, has knowledge of, and understands) those who take refuge and trust in Him. [Ps. 1:6; Hos. 13:5; John 10:14, 27.]

God's Goodness: The verse begins with the affirmation that "The Lord is good." This highlights God's inherent nature as benevolent and faithful, providing hope and comfort even in difficult times.

Stronghold in Times of Trouble: The phrase "a stronghold in the day of trouble" portrays God as a protective fortress. This imagery suggests that believers can find safety and security in Him during life's challenges and adversities.

Adonai has Intimate Knowledge of Believers: The latter part of the verse, "he knoweth them that trust in him," emphasizes God's personal relationship with those who place their faith in Him. This indicates that God is aware of and…

LOOKING BEYOND FAULTS

Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

We can not see the good in others if good is not in us! I would even say that the amount of good in you is what you'll see in others.

Matthew 7:1-3 AMPC

DO NOT judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves. [2]  For just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you [use to] deal out to others, it will be dealt out again to you. [3]  Why do you stare from without at the very small particle that is in your brother's eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam of timber that is in your own eye?

Our own sins ought to appear greater to us than the same…

PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMIES

Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

Luke 6:27-28 NKJV

“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,  [28] bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.

Jesus gave us a perfect example of praying for our enemies when He was being nailed to a cross. In the middle of His own agony, He cried out, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). He talked to His Father about the people who were harming Him. He did not ask for their destruction; He did not pray for revenge. He prayed they would be forgiven. Jesus had compassion on the deceived people who believed they were doing the right thing by killing the Son of God. They had no idea what was actually taking place. They had no idea…

WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS

Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

Romans 8:37 says, “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” To conquer is to be victorious over an adversary. To be "more than a conqueror" means we not only achieve victory, but we are overwhelmingly victorious.

Satan is our adversary. He sends all kinds of life-defeating, joy-stealing attacks to threaten the well-being and faith of God’s children. Many of those attacks are listed in Romans 8:35–39: trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, and sword. Paul is encouraging us to stand firm in our faith when those attacks come, reminding us that not only will we win in the end, but Jesus enables us to win now. Satan lacks the power to steal our eternal destiny, and he cannot separate us from the love of God right now. Nothing we face worries God in the least. If we are His children…

What Does It Mean To Take Up Your Cross? (PartII)

Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

Here are some practical ways you can actually take up your cross daily.

1. Jesus Or Your Own Way?

You have a choice to make. Jesus isn’t forcing you to pick up your cross and follow him. He’s inviting you.

Do you want to follow Jesus or do you want to go your own way? Before you do anything else, you need to decide if you want to follow Jesus, if you want to pick up your cross.

TAKE UP YOUR CROSS (PART I)

Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

Luke 9:23 AMPC

And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also].

I regularly hear people quote this verse to point to some burden they must carry in their life. A demanding/thankless job, a disease, a broken relationship, or a challenging situation. They will say this is their cross to bear.

But this is not what Jesus meant when he said “pick up your cross and follow me.” This is self-pity and pride. What Jesus is talking about is the level to which we are to deny ourselves.

“In the Roman…

THE POWER OF WORDS

Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

Our words have the power to destroy and the power to build up (Proverbs 12:6). The writer of Proverbs tells us, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21). Are we using words to build up people or destroy them? Are they being filled with hate or love, bitterness or blessing, complaining or compliments, lust or love, victory or defeat? Words are tools that can make life better, but any tool can be misused.

Today, many use words as weapons to attack those who oppose them. I remember when political leaders and news journalists spoke with caution, and certain things were never to be spoken publicly. Jesus reminds us that the words we speak are actually the overflow of our hearts (Matthew 12:34–35). When one becomes a Christian, there is…

Galatians 5:22-23 AMPC

Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

Galatians 5:22-23 AMPC

But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, [23]  Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].

The "Fruits of the Spirit" refers to a list of virtues and character traits in the book of Galatians 5:22-23. The Apostle Paul writes about these qualities as attributes that should be evident in the lives of Christians, produced by the Holy Spirit within believers. The Fruits of the Spirit are essential to living a Christian life. They are THE EVIDENCE OF ONE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH YESHUA!

Those in Christ are differentiated from disbelievers in that they have been endowed with the Holy Spirit, allowing them to bear these spiritual fruits.

The Greek…

GREATER IS HE

Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!

1 John 4:4 AMPC

Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.

God is truly greater than anything in the world. Christ’s followers will encounter false teachers. Yet God is greater. Christians will face hardships, and sorrows, and all sorts of troubles. God is greater. Believers will be let down and hurt by others, but God is greater than all of that. God is greater than one’s worries, fears, and concerns. God is greater than the enemy who roams around like a lion looking for someone to devour (see 1 Peter 5:8).

Earlier in this letter, the apostle John wrote that believers are beloved children of God (see 1 John 3:1). The…
