Psalms 51:1-3 AMP
[1] Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.
[2] Wash me thoroughly from my wickedness and guilt And cleanse me from my sin.
[3] For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; My sin is always before me.
The acts of repentance, even for the same sin, must be often repeated. It will be of good use for us to have our sins ever before us, that by the remembrance of our past sins we may be kept humble, may be armed against temptation, quickened to duty, and made patient under the cross.
