Principle # 10 SELF-CONTROL
A real man demonstrates self-control (2Tim 1:7).
" For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control."
A real Godly Man is not over-indulgent in food or entertainment. He doesn’t let himself go physically, and he doesn’t watch endless hours of TV/Pornography throughout the week. He gets to work on time because he doesn’t stay up late. He maintains a certain mastery over his mind and body, and as a result, has a positive effect on his family. A man who lets himself go damages his family through negligence.
A man of this age must learn what foods are appropriate for his physical and mental well-being.
