Blessings in the Mighty Name of Yeshua Hamashiach!
God must deal with those areas of our hearts where we are not honest, open, or vulnerable to Him. Becoming honest about our attitude toward sin and embracing the process of pulling down that stronghold requires something more than attending church once a week. It requires a certain aggressiveness in our spiritual walk. We cannot expect everything to be taken care of in the context of a weekly church service. This can be frightening, threatening, and disarming. It can be terrible and wonderful simultaneously because God is working within us—not just some human self-discipline. The Amplified Bible, Classic Edition helps to clarify this process in Philippians 2:12–13, where it says, Therefore, my dear ones…work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling.…[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.
